Furniture Purchasing, Receiving & Fulfillment FAQs

Working With Bello Lane

Who does Bello Lane work with?

Bello Lane works with interior designers, decorators, home stagers, boutique furniture retailers, and other home furnishings professionals throughout the United States who are purchasing furniture for projects, staging inventory, or resale within the greater Northwest. Our services support businesses that need help with wholesale purchasing, order administration, receiving, inspection, claims management, storage, inventory fulfillment, and final delivery. Bello Lane works behind the scenes as a trade partner and does not sell directly to homeowners.

What area does Bello Lane serve?

Bello Lane serves home furnishings professionals throughout the greater Northwest. Our trucks and delivery team provide local service throughout the Boise area and surrounding communities. For deliveries outside our local service area, we coordinate with specialized furniture logistics providers serving Washington, western Montana, Oregon, northern California, and northern Utah. Local and regional delivery availability may vary by destination, order size, and service requirements. Contact Bello Lane to confirm delivery options for a specific project or customer location.

How do I become a Bello Lane client?

To become a Bello Lane client, begin by completing the inquiry form on our Work With Bello Lane page and telling us about your business and the services you need. We will review your information and contact you to complete your account setup. Approved clients will provide their business information, resale certificate, billing preference, and contact details for each team member who needs access. Once your account is established, you will receive access to the private Bello Lane Client Portal, where you can view vendors and pricing, submit purchase orders, and track products from purchase through final delivery. There are no membership fees, annual commitments, or purchasing minimums.

What information is required to set up an account?

To set up a Bello Lane account, we will ask for your business name, billing address, primary contact information, resale certificate, and preferred payment method. We will also need the names, email addresses, and phone numbers of each team member who should have access to the Bello Lane Client Portal. Depending on the services you need, we may also request information about your typical projects, purchasing needs, inventory requirements, or delivery area. This helps us set up your account and portal access around the way your business will work with Bello Lane.

Do I need a resale certificate to purchase through Bello Lane?

Yes. Because Bello Lane’s wholesale purchasing services are intended for trade professionals purchasing furniture for client projects, staging inventory, or resale, we require a current resale certificate or other applicable state documentation when establishing your account. Resale requirements vary by state. If your business operates in a state that does not issue resale certificates, contact Bello Lane so we can confirm the documentation needed to complete your account setup. A resale certificate does not guarantee that every order will be exempt from sales tax; applicable tax may depend on the vendor, delivery location, and state requirements.

Are there membership fees, annual commitments, or purchasing minimums?

No. Bello Lane does not charge membership fees, require annual commitments, or establish a minimum amount that clients must purchase each year. Approved clients may use our services as their project and inventory needs arise. Many furniture manufacturers require businesses to meet annual purchasing minimums to maintain a direct account. Bello Lane meets these requirements through the combined purchasing volume of our established accounts, allowing each client to purchase according to their own needs without independently meeting every vendor’s annual minimum.

Can my employees or team members access the Client Portal?

Yes. Employees and team members can receive individual access to the Bello Lane Client Portal. Permissions can be assigned according to each person’s role, allowing them to view relevant orders, product status, shipments, and delivery information without seeing pricing or other account information you choose to keep confidential.

Does Bello Lane Work directly with homeowners?

No. Bello Lane is a Designer Furnishings House serving interior designers, decorators, home stagers, boutique furniture retailers, and other home furnishings professionals. We do not operate as a retail store or sell furniture directly to homeowners through e-commerce. Homeowners purchase through the professional managing their project or the retailer serving them. Bello Lane works behind that business to support purchasing, receiving, inspection, storage, claims management, and final delivery.

Vendors, Purchasing & Pricing

What brands and manufacturers do I have access to?

Bello Lane maintains purchasing relationships with a carefully selected group of furniture manufacturers and distributors. Our vendor network includes whole-home furnishings, upholstery, case goods, lighting, outdoor furniture, children’s furnishings, wellness-focused products, and custom resources. Approved clients can review available vendors, product information, and pricing through the Bello Lane Client Portal. If you are looking for a particular manufacturer, contact us to ask whether purchasing access is available.

How is Bello Lane’s furniture pricing structured?

Bello Lane purchases furniture through our established accounts with manufacturers and distributors. Rather than presenting pricing as a percentage discount from retail, our pricing structure focuses on creating a stronger margin between your product cost and the suggested retail price. Vendor and product pricing is available exclusively to approved Bello Lane clients through the private Client Portal.

What is your process for handling custom furniture orders?

We take great care in handling custom furniture orders to ensure everything is complete and accurate. Our process involves closely collaborating with each vendor to confirm specifications and details at every step.

When is payment required, and what payment methods do you accept?

Payment is required before an order is placed with the vendor. Orders paid by check are submitted after the payment has cleared. Available electronic payment methods and any applicable processing fees are shown on the invoice. Because manufacturers may change product availability while payment is pending, prompt payment helps reduce the possibility of an item selling out or becoming backordered.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Return and exchange policies are established by each manufacturer and vary by vendor, product, and order type. Custom, made-to-order, clearance, and final-sale products are generally not returnable. Contact Bello Lane before requesting a return or exchange so we can confirm the vendor’s policy, authorization requirements, restocking fees, and return freight costs. As an alternative to returning an eligible item, Bello Lane clients may offer it for sale to other clients through our private Client Marketplace. This provides an opportunity to place the item with another business in our network and potentially avoid return freight and restocking fees. Each marketplace listing will clearly explain why the item is being offered for sale and identify its condition and price.

Order Timing, Shipping & Tracking

How long does it take to receive furniture after an order is placed?

Furniture lead times vary by manufacturer, product availability, production requirements, and shipping method. With the Ship When Ready option, available products are released by the vendor and shipped through the vendor’s contracted freight carrier. Because items may become available at different times, a purchase order may arrive in more than one shipment. Bello Lane tracks each item through the vendor’s processing and shipping stages. With the Consolidated Shipment option, eligible products are combined with other orders and transported to the Bello Lane warehouse on a regular schedule—typically once or twice each month, depending on order volume. This option may reduce freight costs, but products may be held until the next scheduled shipment. Current order status, estimated availability dates, shipment details, and receiving updates are available through your Bello Lane Client Portal.

How do you manage communication and order tracking?

Your private Bello Lane Client Portal provides current information for each purchase order and product, including order status, estimated availability, shipment details, backorders, receiving status, claims, stored inventory, and delivery readiness. We also notify you when an update requires your attention.

Receiving, Inspection & Claims

What Is a Furniture Receiving Warehouse, and When Do I Need One?

A furniture receiving warehouse accepts furnishings on behalf of designers, decorators, home stagers, retailers, and their clients. As products arrive from different manufacturers, the warehouse records each delivery, inspects the items for visible freight damage, documents their condition, and stores them securely until the full project is ready for delivery. A receiving warehouse is especially valuable when furniture is arriving from multiple vendors, the project site is not ready to accept deliveries, or the products need to be inspected before reaching the client. It also provides a central location where shipments can be organized and consolidated for one coordinated installation rather than delivered separately over several weeks or months. Bello Lane connects receiving with the rest of the furniture purchasing process. We manage your orders from purchase through receiving, inspection, claims management, storage, and final delivery—giving you one place to track each product and one specialized partner responsible for carrying the details through to final placement.

Why Should Furniture Be Delivered to a Receiver Instead of Directly to the Client?

Furniture delivered directly to a client’s home may arrive before the space is ready, in multiple shipments, or with damage. This can expose clients to the messy and sometimes frustrating parts of receiving, rather than providing a seamless experience. A furniture receiver provides a designated location where each shipment can be accepted, recorded, inspected, and stored as it arrives. If damage or missing parts are discovered, the issue can be documented promptly and addressed before installation day. Once the order is complete and the project is ready, the furniture can be consolidated into one coordinated delivery. This reduces interruptions for the client, prevents unnecessary handling, and allows the designer to create a beautifully styled room for the client to experience all at once.

What happens when furniture arrives damaged?

All shipments are received at the Bello Lane warehouse, where each item is inspected for freight damage and manufacturing defects. If an item has minor, repairable damage, we document the issue, contact the vendor, and coordinate the appropriate repair. If the damage or defect cannot be repaired, we promptly file a claim for a replacement. The issue, proposed resolution, claim status, and replacement availability are documented in the Bello Lane Client Portal, allowing you to follow the process without managing the communication between the warehouse, vendor, and carrier.

Storage, Returns & Client Marketplace

Do you offer warehousing or storage options?

Bello Lane provides short-term project storage and longer-term inventory warehousing for eligible furniture purchased through Bello Lane. Products remain connected to their client, project, order, or customer so you can see what has arrived, what is being stored, and what is ready for delivery. These services are available through our Boise-area warehouse, with local delivery and service into the greater Northwest.

White-Glove Delivery

What is included with Bello Lane's white-glove delivery service?

Bello Lane’s white-glove delivery service includes bringing furniture into the property, placing it in the designated room, completing standard furniture assembly when applicable, and removing packaging materials. Specialized installation—including artwork, lighting, window treatments, wall-mounted furniture, or products requiring a licensed trade professional—is not included. When needed, we can help identify an appropriate local service provider.
